A highly unusual home made one string electric bass, with amplifier and speaker. It has a carved wooden handle on top of which the string is attached. When pivoted it changes the tension on the string and therefore the note. The bass is 24" high, 12" wide and 5" deep. It is made of wood, covered by Naugahyde on the sides and part of a chenille spread on the front. The amp/speaker is in an old carrying case 14" wide, 13" high and 7" deep. The price is $150.00. This is a really nice lover's whimsey, made in an old clear glass bottle similar to a small soda bottle, but impressed with the words "Duraglo" and "contents 6 1/2 OZ." on the bottom. The bottle has a 2" diameter bottom, while it and the whimsey are 11 1/2" high. The whimsey itself is 7 1/2" high. It has a 1" wide paddle on the bottom which was put inside the bottle though a 1/2" diameter hole. The top has another flat area with an arrow through it. The arrow points are almost 7/8" across. It goes through a hole 1/2" in diameter. On one side of the arrow is written "S.C. 'n R.C.", on the other side is "Sherry", and "SC". The condition of the unfinished wood is very good. Here is an old, unused brass lightning rod tip with beautiful starburst form. It is 8 3/4" long by 3 7/8" wide by about 3/4" thick at the base. This was found packed away in a box and never used. This is a folky decorative metal sculpture which can be used as a stand or, by adding a glass top, as a little table. It is a bull made out of heavy chains, concrete strengthening iron rebar, and other found objects. It has a nice old dark green paint (with a little old surface rust in the top for "accent"), and is in excellent condition. This is a nice round tramp art frame on a base. It could be used for a mirror, as a dresser piece, or for display. The frame is four layers deep and is constructed from pine, while the base is oak. The entire piece has been varnished. This frame is 10" high including the base, and has an opening of 5 1/4" in diameter. The layers and some of the chipping and decorative carving are highlighted in black paint. There is a small area of red velvet on top surrounding an upper triangle. The frame is in excellent condition, although there is a tiny chip on the bottom front. The base is 5" by 2 1/4", and the outside of the frame is 7" in diameter. This is a Southwestern style wooden box with folky paint in shades of green, red, black, and gold. It is also decorated with several kinds of brass tacks. It is 9 1/4" wide by 4 1/2" deep by 4" high. There seems to be an inscription inside the lid, but it's too faint to make out. The condition is good with minor wear and paint loss. Age is probably from the 1970's or older. The price is $120.00. This is a turned wood bottle with a painted menu from Chuck's Steak House of Kansas City, KS. This restaurant is no longer in business. The bottle was likely made in the 1960's or '70's. It is solid wood which was then hand painted with the menu in white. The bottle is 12" high by about 5 1/2" in diameter at the widest part. It is in very good condition. The price is $160.00. This whimsical metal weathervane arrow was hand made on a doorknob base. It is 24" long by 5" high, the point is 2" wide. It was most likely made in the 1940's or 50's. Here are two carnival knockdowns in the form of clowns. They are made from painted canvas, with wool hair. One is mounted on a hinged base, the other will sit upright on its own. They are both old and used, in good condition with normal wear and slight fading. The one with the base is 16 1/2" high by 11" wide by 3 1/2" thick. This is a decorative chrome can light with a white glass globe. There is a switch in the cord, and the globe lifts off to change the bulb. It is about 12 1/2" high, with a can about 4 1/2" in diameter and a 7" globe. These original lamps were made in the late 1960's and early 70's. This pottery bathing beauty is fully three-dimensional, reclining on a triangular ashtray. She is natural colored clay decorated with reddish brown glaze. The overall size is 10" wide by 4" deep by 2" high. It is in very good condition, with a few extremely tiny flakes on the edges. This is a great lighted metal Peanut Heater, likely used in a store, carnival, or circus. It is 20 1/2" wide by 13" deep and 29" high to the top of the galvanized Hot Peanuts Sign. The door opens to two racks and 4 bulbs which provide the heat and light. A window in the top lets the light shine up to illuminate the sign. This piece was likely made in the 1940's or 50's and is in very good, sturdy, used, and functional condition with minor paint loss. It has an on/off switch on the side and a rewired plug and cord. This is a wooden sign with good color and a nice weathered surface. It reads "Concrete Incinerators Mfg. & Sold Here!" It is painted on both sides in gold, black, red, and blue on a white background. A blue border is made from narrow wood strips attached around the edges. The size is 18" high by 31" wide. It is probably from about the 1950's, and is in excellent condition. The price is $110.00. This is a salt and pepper set decorated with shells and coral. They are also finished with a light coat of varnish, and are in excellent condition, with a few small chips, but no missing pieces. This is a really intricate, puzzle work style, tramp art whimsey. It is so well done that the end can't be found. This interlocking piece is very sturdy and can be easily used as a frame. It is similar to those made in a crown of thorns style. The frame or whimsey has a nice natural surface. It is about 6 1/4" in outside diameter, and is about 1" deep. This is a oil painting on canvas by the late Martin Zipin. The subject is a carnival barker or ticket taker. It was done in the early 1960's and is in excellent condition. This is a nice, large, memory bottle. It is covered with hundreds of beads, buttons, jewelry, and trinkets, including many interesting and unusual objects. It is in excellent condition with only a tiny bit of loss. There is a badge from 1963, and it seems to be from that age. The bottle is 14" high and 7" in diameter. The price is $295.00. This is a well done wood carving of a person with jointed arms and legs. It almost has the feeling of a space alien rather than a human. The figure is carved from pine and with the exception of painted hands and shoes has a plain unfinished surface. This has taken on a nice tone and feel from oxidation. The figure is very smooth, has old tacks for eyes, and is in excellent condition. It stands about 15" tall on the custom base, and is about 4" wide and 2" deep. The base is slightly bigger. This folky metal drummer assemblage is actually a wind up music box. The drummer is constructed of springs, heavy wires, and light metal. The drums and stage are also all metal. The music box mechanism is mounted on a piece of wood under the base. It is pretty intricate. The size is about 7 1/2" high by 6 1/2" wide by 6" deep. It was likely made in the 1960's or 1970's and is in fairly good used condition. There are normal scratches and oxidation to the metal. The pièce de résistance comes when you wind the key and then listen to an extremely "sick" rendition of the opening bars of "The Age of Aquarius". The price is $110.00. Inventory Code: TWKA.
