• This is a beautiful wrought iron kitchen rack with birds, from the 1800's. The round hanging rack has eight hooks. Each hook is topped with filigree, and four also have a bird. It measures 13" high by 15" across. The condition is very good; it is strong and useable. One bird shows a very small amount of loss, visible in the closeups. The price is $750.00. • This is an African-American quilt with great graphics. It is made from plain and patterned velvets and fake fur, hand pieced and appliqued onto a muslin backing to give a quilted effect without an extra layer of quilting stitches. There is no batting. The back was made in four large blocks, and unfinished edges show where these come together. This quilt measures 72" by 77" and is in excellent, unused condition. There is one discolored spot on the back that does not show through on the front. This was purchased from an African-American church sale in Savannah, GA in the 1970's. • This is the top of a wooden spear from a Masonic lodge in IN. It has a beautiful crazed and crusted paint surface in a warm, deep, oxidized gold, and a graceful form. It is 15" high (18" high on the included wood base), 3" wide, and 2 1/2" deep. It was made in the late 1800's, and is in excellent condition with very slight paint loss. The price is $295.00. • This is a unique jewelry box, carved from a single piece of pine. It has an organic, somewhat modernistic form. The drawers are lined with brown felt, and the back is covered with paper. The surface is stained with varying shades of medium brown. It stands 10 1/4" high by 5 1/4" wide by 3" deep. The condition is excellent: the one chip on the lower corner was apparently done when the piece was originally made. It made in the latter half of the 20th century. The price is $145.00. • Here is a very nice cast iron hanging balance scale. It has a star in shield design on the end, two hooks to hang the items being weighed, and a pear shaped counterbalance which slides along the graduated beam. The surface is very nice, dark, oxidized, and mostly unfinished, with traces of old black paint. It is 16 3/4" long by 9 1/2" high by 1 3/4" thick, from the late 1800's, in excellent condition. • This is an old, galvanized metal finial. It has the original white paint, and is very rusty (sturdy, not crumbling) with a couple of bullet holes. This funky piece is about 9" high and 4" along each side of the base. The ball on top is about 2 1/2" in diameter. • Here is a decorative, starburst shaped cast iron wheel from a John Deere cultivator. It has an oxidized surface with some remaining green paint. It measures 19 1/2" in diameter by 5/8" thick, in old, excellent used condition with minor surface rust. The price is $65.00. Inventory Code: TSPC.   Cultivator wheel ... The other side ... • This is a very well decorated memory jug topped with a pair of ceramic Scotty dogs. Other decorations include a blue glass vial, springs and gears from a pocket watch, advertising and good luck medallions, chains, hardware, costume jewelry, game pieces, nuts, and much more. They are applied over a brown pottery jug. The size is 13 1/2" high by about 4" in diameter, with the applied pieces sticking out farther than that. The condition is excellent: I could only find two very small pieces missing. It was probably made around the 1960's or earlier. The price is $325.00. Inventory Code: TSOT.   Memory jug ... • This is a tramp art clock case or display case with a peaked roof and convex glass window. It has very nice workmanship and detail. A removable sliding panel on the rear gives access to the compartment. The surface is a warm, medium/dark lacquer. It is in excellent condition, with no loss and only two small spots where the finish is worn. It was made around 1900 and measures 13" high, 8" wide, and 4 1/2" deep. The price is $375.00. • This is a painted wooden bear by New Brunswick folk carver Art Gallant. It is standing, mounted on the original wood base. The base is labeled with rubber stamps: "The Grisly Bear", and "The Home of Wood Carving, Hand Carved By Art Gallant, Dieppe, N.B. Canada". It stands 8" tall by 6" long by 3 1/2" wide. It is in very good condition - the bear has pulled slightly loose from the base. It was probably made in the 1950's or 60's. The price is $145.00. Inventory Code: TSHH. Image ... Closeup ... • This is a memorial, carved whimsey chain, 5 feet, 9 1/2 inches long. Included with this piece, which was made after Hawaii and Alaska were states, is a letter by the maker in which he describes in detail the symbolism of the links and inscriptions. It was made as a remembrance to the four Raider battalions that made up the Fourth Marines in W.W.II. It includes a key on one end, and 55 links; three of which are unfinished. The piece is in excellent condition and is pine, with a clear varnish finish. Some of the letter reads: "To my Raiders Friends. I carved this chain for remembrance of buddys long ago. Their [sic] are fifty five links in all. 50 states Four Raider Bat's and Fourth Marines. Made up of what was left of the Four Raider Bats. I left the last five links solid as was 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th. • This tramp art box is layered but not chip-carved, with a nice medium-brown varnish finish. It is built over a cigar box from Michigan, and probably dates from the 1930's or 40's. The size is 4" high by 10 1/4" wide by 6 3/4" deep. It is in very good condition, with minor surface wear, no breaks or missing pieces. The price is $225.00. Inventory Code: TSWP. Tramp art box ... • "Speak Easy", by Lewis Smith (1907 - 1998) is drawn in crayon, marker, and ballpoint on a cracker box. It features "Chicken Forty Ways", "Rust Biff", and advertises "SEE Slo Boat to China". It is one of the few pieces that he signed and dated (5-14-83). This piece contains many of the common elements of Smith's work: a muscular woman, wordplay, detail extending right up to and off of the edge, and the use of recycled materials. It measures 16 1/4" by 9 3/4", and is in excellent condition. If you like this, you can see much more of his art, or read about his history and his environment. The price is $950.00. • Here are three carved whimsey chains by the same maker. They are each carved from a branch (possibly red birch) with the bark left on. The largest is initialed "I.Z.", and dated 1935.
