• This is a decorative carved wood bird. It has nice size, form, and paint. The bird is about 16 1/2" high, while the body is about 4" wide by 4 1/2" deep. The bird and base are all together, having been carved from one piece of wood. The paint is good and old, this piece likely being done in the mid 1900's, and the condition is very good. • This is a wonderful "make do" bank, made from a heavy metal can. It is painted in a deep burnt orange, black, and white with a beautiful, crazed surface. It says "Our Kitty" and "R.S. & B.C. 11-1-37", with lovely decoration on the lid also. A small coin slot was cut in the top, only large enough for pennies or dimes. The bottom of the can was carefully cut open about halfway - enough that it could be pried open to remove the contents and then pressed closed again. Dated 1937, the bank is in good used condition. It has one small dent, and some tiny chips in the paint where the lighter orange can label shows through. At one time it was splattered with tiny specks of white paint, mainly on the bottom and back of the bank. It stands 6 1/4" high by 3 3/4" in diameter. The price is $160.00. • This is a primitive hand forged iron object - likely a goat hobble. In other words, it would be pushed into the ground to the cross piece. Then a rope with a goat on one end would be tied through the ring. Now it is a very good looking decorative piece. Probably made in the 1800's, this is in very good used condition with a rich, dark, smooth surface and slight traces of dark rust. It is 16 1/2" long by 5 5/8" wide and 3/8" thick. • This folky metal drummer assemblage is actually a wind up music box. The drummer is constructed of springs, heavy wires, and light metal. The drums and stage are also all metal. The music box mechanism is mounted on a piece of wood under the base. It is pretty intricate. The size is about 7 1/2" high by 6 1/2" wide by 6" deep. It was likely made in the 1960's or 1970's and is in fairly good used condition. There are normal scratches and oxidation to the metal. The pièce de résistance comes when you wind the key and then listen to an extremely "sick" rendition of the opening bars of "The Age of Aquarius". The price is $110.00. • Here is an exceptional pair of jointed limberjack carvings - a man and a woman. They have strong, primitive faces with carved ears and metal tacks for eyes. The hands are inset metal tabs which are free to turn around the iron mounting bar. These carvings are from the late 1800's or early 1900's, with well oxidized surfaces and good patina. They are in excellent condition. Each person measures approximately 10" high by 2" wide by 1 1/2" deep; total width including the bar is 19 3/4". The price for the pair is $675.00. • Here are two spiral shaped cast iron cultivator wheels mounted on custom made metal bases. They are from the early 1900's, in very good used condition with expected paint wear.

  This wheel has old muted red paint. It is 19 1/2" in diameter and 5 1/2" deep at the hub. It stands 25" high by 11" deep with the base. • The second wheel has remnants of John Deere green paint, and measures 19" in diameter by 3 1/2" deep at the hub; as mounted it stands 25 1/2" high by 7 1/4" deep. • This is a hand made primitive tool carrier, very weathered and worn. It has a really good look and feel. It is built from pine boards with an unfinished surface, divided into two compartments inside. There is a handle for carrying, and feet to stand on. From the early 1900's, it is 21 3/4" wide by 9 3/4" deep, and stands 21" high. The condition is sturdy, very worn from use, with an old break at the top on one end. The price is $250.00. • This is a beautiful wrought iron kitchen rack with birds, from the 1800's. The round hanging rack has eight hooks. Each hook is topped with filigree, and four also have a bird. It measures 13" high by 15" across. The condition is very good; it is strong and useable. One bird shows a very small amount of loss, visible in the closeups. The price is $750.00. • This is an African-American quilt with great graphics. It is made from plain and patterned velvets and fake fur, hand pieced and appliqued onto a muslin backing to give a quilted effect without an extra layer of quilting stitches. There is no batting. The back was made in four large blocks, and unfinished edges show where these come together. This quilt measures 72" by 77" and is in excellent, unused condition. There is one discolored spot on the back that does not show through on the front. This was purchased from an African-American church sale in Savannah, GA in the 1970's. • This is the top of a wooden spear from a Masonic lodge in IN. It has a beautiful crazed and crusted paint surface in a warm, deep, oxidized gold, and a graceful form. It is 15" high (18" high on the included wood base), 3" wide, and 2 1/2" deep. It was made in the late 1800's, and is in excellent condition with very slight paint loss. The price is $295.00. • This is a unique jewelry box, carved from a single piece of pine. It has an organic, somewhat modernistic form. The drawers are lined with brown felt, and the back is covered with paper. The surface is stained with varying shades of medium brown. It stands 10 1/4" high by 5 1/4" wide by 3" deep. The condition is excellent: the one chip on the lower corner was apparently done when the piece was originally made. It made in the latter half of the 20th century. The price is $145.00. • This is an old, galvanized metal finial. It has the original white paint, and is very rusty (sturdy, not crumbling) with a couple of bullet holes. This funky piece is about 9" high and 4" along each side of the base. The ball on top is about 2 1/2" in diameter. • Here is a decorative, starburst shaped cast iron wheel from a John Deere cultivator. It has an oxidized surface with some remaining green paint. • This is a very well decorated memory jug topped with a pair of ceramic Scotty dogs. Other decorations include a blue glass vial, springs and gears from a pocket watch, advertising and good luck medallions, chains, hardware, costume jewelry, game pieces, nuts, and much more. They are applied over a brown pottery jug. The size is 13 1/2" high by about 4" in diameter, with the applied pieces sticking out farther than that. • This is a tramp art clock case or display case with a peaked roof and convex glass window. It has very nice workmanship and detail. A removable sliding panel on the rear gives access to the compartment. The surface is a warm, medium/dark lacquer. It is in excellent condition, with no loss and only two small spots where the finish is worn. It was made around 1900 and measures 13" high, 8" wide, and 4 1/2" deep. The price is $375.00. • This is a painted wooden bear by New Brunswick folk carver Art Gallant. It is standing, mounted on the original wood base. The base is labeled with rubber stamps: "The Grisly Bear", and "The Home of Wood Carving, Hand Carved By Art Gallant, Dieppe, N.B. Canada". It stands 8" tall by 6" long by 3 1/2" wide. • This is a memorial, carved whimsey chain, 5 feet, 9 1/2 inches long. Included with this piece, which was made after Hawaii and Alaska were states, is a letter by the maker in which he describes in detail the symbolism of the links and inscriptions. It was made as a remembrance to the four Raider battalions that made up the Fourth Marines in W.W.II. It includes a key on one end, and 55 links; three of which are unfinished. The piece is in excellent condition and is pine, with a clear varnish finish. Some of the letter reads: "To my Raiders Friends. I carved this chain for remembrance of buddys long ago. Their [sic] are fifty five links in all. 50 states Four Raider Bat's and Fourth Marines. Made up of what was left of the Four Raider Bats. I left the last five links solid as was 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th. • "Speak Easy", by Lewis Smith (1907 - 1998) is drawn in crayon, marker, and ballpoint on a cracker box. It features "Chicken Forty Ways", "Rust Biff", and advertises "SEE Slo Boat to China". It is one of the few pieces that he signed and dated (5-14-83). This piece contains many of the common elements of Smith's work: a muscular woman, wordplay, detail extending right up to and off of the edge, and the use of recycled materials. It measures 16 1/4" by 9 3/4", and is in excellent condition. If you like this, you can see much more of his art, or read about his history and his environment. The price is $950.00. • Here are three carved whimsey chains by the same maker. They are each carved from a branch (possibly red birch) with the bark left on. The largest is initialed "I.Z.", and dated 1935.
