• This is a very old single board lap desk with an old checker board painted on the reverse. The lap desk is probably from the mid to late 1800's. While the painting of the checker board may have been added slightly later, it is definitely not recent, and considering the wear and surface, may have been original to the piece. The desk is made from fairly thin softwood (about 1/2" thick) and is hand cut and shaped. It is attached to two carved cross supports by old screws. It is about 36 1/2" long, by 18 1/2" wide. The checker board is about 12" by 12". Two screws and a wire were added fairly recently for hanging. It is in good condition, with normal wear from the period and an age split, visible in the photos. • Here is a wonderfully folky hand made folk art cabinet decorated with stars, moons, and other carved and applied accent pieces. It can be hung on a wall or sit on something else. This piece is made from what appears to be crate and other woods. It was painted white. This has now aged and alligatored to an extremely attractive surface and patina. The cabinet has a door which opens, revealing the main storage area and a shelf above. It has the original door pull. The bottom is a drawer. This also has the original pull. The crest at the top is divided into 4 small compartments to hold additional items if desired. The cabinet is 25" high by 14 1/4" wide by 11 1/4" deep. It was likely made in the early 1900's, probably about 1910's or 1920's, and is in very good, sturdy condition, with just some slight normal wear. The price is $1100.00. • Here are three original lava lamps in great working condition, ready to provide hours of entertainment. These lamps have intense, vivid colors that are much groovier than the photos or videos can convey.

  The lamp on the left is the classic Century model, with the Starlight base. (The little holes in the base send out starry streaks of light around the room.) It has very deep red lava in yellow liquid, and the base has a black plastic rim at the bottom. This is one of the original 1960's/70's lamps. The switch has been replaced.   The center lamp is the Aristocrat model, with white lava in blue liquid. It is a slightly later model, made in the US by Haggerty in the late 1980's. It has a bottle cap seal under the plastic cap.   The lamp on the right also has the Starlight base, this time without the black plastic rim. The lava is a strong medium red, in yellow liquid. This is one of the original 1960's/70's lamps. • This is an old decorative cast iron hay trolley. It was used in a barn to move bales of hay around and rolled on a track. This piece came from Iowa. It is in very good, old used condition with a nice oxidized and well patinated surface with traces of dark green paint. All the wheels but one still turn. The trolley has casting marks of "Janesville Mfg" (probably from Wisconsin) and "Dead Lock Swivel", and is probably from the late 1800's. It is 15 1/2" long by 15" high, by 6" wide. • This is a decorative cast iron hay trolley. It has good form and presence, with a very dark oxidized surface. It may have traces of clear varnish. From the late 1800's or early 1900's, this fancy primitive measures 10 1/2" high by 13 1/2" wide by 6 7/8" deep. The mechanism has rusted solid, but it is in very good, sturdy, display condition. • This is an unusual carved cedar whimsey of a man and woman joined with a link between their heads. The people are mortised in to a carved hard pine base which has carved initials A C (??) on the bottom. The people are lightly varnished, and the base has a natural surface, except on the bottom, which is painted blue. Including the base, the carving is over 9" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" deep. The people are each about 1" in diameter. This piece was probably made about the 1960's and is in excellent condition. The price is $185.00. • This primitive, hand made, folding wheelbarrow is painted in layers of yellow and orange. This cool, funky piece has a lot of character, and would look great in the garden, standing in a corner, or folded and hung on a wall. The date "1960" is carved into the handle. One of the folding uprights was replaced a long time ago with an unpainted piece that appears to be part of an axe handle. It is 44" long by 17 1/2" wide across the handles. • Here is an old, decorative and primitive, wagon wheel hub with beautiful look and form. It came from Ohio and likely is from the 1800's. It is heavy and solid, made of hard wood with metal bands. • This is an absolutely wonderful, folky small cupboard. It was hand made in York, PA around 1900. It is a one-of-a-kind piece, done by a craftsman of considerable skill and taste and carries a feel of caring. This piece stands about 58" high by 22" wide and 16" deep. The carved turn handle extends another 2 1/2". It is set on four old casters for easy rolling. It is made primarily from pine and finished with a dark lacquer or varnish which has taken on the most marvelous patina and surface texture. The entire piece is decorated and accented with carved and applied diamond and triangular shapes. The top has a rounded sawtooth border, while the crest also contains turned conical decoration. Inside are two shelves and a hand made drawer which also has a marquetry front and larger applied diamond. Apparently the door originally hit the drawer pull so the back was mortised to make room - a charming "make-do". This attractive and unusual cupboard could fit in many settings. The condition is excellent with an old hairline crack that was reglued on the upper back. This piece can be shipped via FedEx ground. The price is $2800.00. • This painted snake has been carved from a naturally spiral-twisted root or vine. The workmanship is primitive, and the color and sense of motion are striking. It is approximately 23 1/2" long, and curves to 5" wide and 2 1/2" high. The wood is very dense and dark brown: there is black paint on the head and tail, but the rest of the dark bands you see in the photos are the unpainted color. • This is a vibrant and graphic African American made one-patch quilt top. It came from east Texas. It is hand pieced from cotton fabrics in a variety of weaves and surfaces. The age is from the middle of the 20th century, made from older fabrics. It measures 85" by 74", and is in excellent, unwashed condition. The striking color play looks great on a wall or a bed. • This whimsical metal weathervane arrow was hand made on a doorknob base. It is 24" long by 5" high, the point is 2" wide. It was most likely made in the 1940's or 50's. • This wonderful tramp art style display tree is hand made and has great, weathered gray and red paint. Formerly used as a plant stand, it also looks super with small carvings, tramp art, or (name your favorite collection). There are small wheels on the bottom to move it. It is 51 1/4" high by approx. 30" by 30". C. 1940's, it is in very good, weathered condition: a few of the platforms have cracks, but all are sturdy and useable. The price is $1100.00. • This is a large, powerful African-American carving of a man and lion. The mane of the lion makes up the man's hair. It stands almost 3 feet high - 33" by 13" by 22", and is hand carved from ancient swamp-submerged cypress with a varnish finish. This is one of three known carvings by the same anonymous artist found in Florida. We are told that one of them was found in a black neighborhood in Jacksonville, FL. This one has been in a private collection for about the last 30 years, and was probably made around the 1940's. Overall the condition is very good, and it is very sturdy. There is an old crack on one of the lion's teeth, a very old drying crack around and underneath the lions' chin (which is still very strong), and a few scuffs in the finish. The price is $3400.00. • This is a small planter. It has three holes formed in it for hanging. It is in excellent condition with a medium glossy glazed surface; and is nicely decorated in red, blue, green rust, and yellow colors. It is 4 1/4" high by 6" in diameter. The price is $110.00. • This is a very interesting carving. It has a head, with faces on all four sides, inside a chip carved enclosure, topped by an animal. It is carved from walnut, with a natural surface, and is fairly old - probably 1920's or 30's. It was found in New York state, stands 7" high by 1 3/4" by 1 3/4", and is in good condition with an age split. The price is $200.00. Inventory Code: ATHS. One side ... Another view ... Front ... • This is a nicely carved whimsy from a single piece of pine. It has a ball in cage, swivel, and chain link. One of the balls is freely moving within the cage. The other is part of the swivel mechanism: it is attached to the link above, and the cage rotates freely around it. This whimsy is in excellent condition, with a natural, oxidized surface. • Here are two large cast iron star tie-ins. They both still have the original metal support rods, so they are now free-standing (although could be removed from the bars). The stars are 9 1/2" across by 1" thick; and the rods are 24" long. They have a good look and a dark, oxidized surface with some some traces of old black paint. The condition is excellent with some old, rough surfaced rust. The price is $225.00 each. Inventory Codes: AOAC. AOAH.

• This well decorated tramp art box is 4" high by 13" wide by 6 3/4" deep. C. 1930's, it is painted an oxidized gold, with a few little more recent touch-ups. It has feet and a hinged lid with a pincushion on top; it is not built up on the back. The fabric of the pincushion is worn, the box is in very good condition.. The price is $350.00. • This is a large, two-handled, wood splint basket with nice detail. It is woven in several different textures, and measures 17 3/4" high by 19" wide by 17 1/2" deep. Found in northern Alabama, the age is unknown, but it is old. There is a very little damage to one bottom corner, but it is still strong. The price is $225.00. Inventory Code: PRCA. • A bold, angular eagle, in a sitting position. It is carved from dark wood and mounted on top of a cork. 4 1/4" high, including the cork, by 1 1/4" wide by 1 3/4" deep, in excellent condition. The price is $85.00. Inventory Code: PCRO. Image.

• Here are two interesting and decorative collapsible anchors. This is the smaller one and measures only 7" by 2" by 2" when folded. Opened, including the hanging ring it is 8 1/2" long, while the four flukes extend to 7" across. It is made from galvanized iron. It is not too old, but obviously used, with a nice surface. • This is the second of two anchors. It also has an interesting form. This one is older, possibly from the 1950's. It also was made from galvanized iron and has a nice, old, worn surface.
