• This is a nice old popsicle stick lamp. It is well made with good form and decoration, including 8-pointed stars on the shade. The metal finial contains a blue and white swirled marble. The lamp is in very good condition although has a loss of part of one stick. It was probably made about the 1970's and is about 18" high including the finial. The shade is 10" across. • Here is a large, two-sided metal sign with a wood border and great look. "Chicken Dinner Today Jericho 2 Miles", with a directional arrow, is hand painted in red and black on a muted pumpkin background. Some of the original pencil outlines are still visible There are holes in each corner of the metal for hanging, or it can hang directly from the wood frame. This sign measures 30 1/4" high by 36" wide, the border is 1 5/8" thick. It has minor wear and paint weathering appropriate to outdoor use, as seen in the photos, with a strong look. Overall, it is in very good display condition. The age is unknown, but it appears to be from about the 1940's or 50's. The price is $375.00. • This is a nice small birdhouse made in the style of a 1950's ranch house. It is in excellent, old condition, with good color, detail, and form. The walls are made from 3/4" pine, while the roof and bottom are 1/4" plywood. The decorative doors and window are from veneer, with small cut pieces and layering of the windows on the garage doors. They have all been painted in great detail. The bottom of the house is held by screws so it can be removed for cleaning. The birdhouse is 11" long by 7" deep, and 5 3/4" to the top of the hanging screw eye. It is likely from the 1970's or so. The price is $225.00. • This is a wonderful, large and complex hanging whimsey assemblage with multiple sections, decoratively carved balls-in-cages, wood chain links, interesting spiral carving, and extra wood balls. It was made in several sections and then put together, rather than all carved from a single large block of wood. The entire piece is in excellent condition with a clear varnish finish. It was likely made about the 1940's or so. The whimsey portion is about 11 1/2" high by 8 1/4" in diameter. Attached to the top is a metal chain about 13" long. • This is an early, very heavy and large rolling pin. It is made from hardwood, likely maple. The round pin was constructed by joining 3 separate pieces. It was then turned on a lathe. It is in very good used condition, with a few marks and indentations. The surface is smooth and rich. This was probably made in the 1800's or early 1900's. • This is folky and colorful painted wall box. It has nice size and a very good look. This piece was made of plywood with pine sides. The back is cut in the design of flowers, grass, and a tree. The paints have taken on a nice surface over the years. The box has two holes in the back for hanging, or also sits on a shelf. It was probably made around the 1930's or '40's, and is in very good condition. It is about 16" high by 15 1/2" wide by 5 1/4" deep. The price is $225.00. • This is an old, colorful, and very folky weather vane with a whirligig type propeller. It is somewhat primitive and yet sophisticated in design and color. Painted mainly red, white, and blue, it also has cut and applied gold stars on the tail. This piece was probably made about the 1950's and is mounted on a new base and stand. The vane/gig is about 15" long while the blade is about 17" long. On the base it stands 15 1/2" to the top of the tail. It is is good condition, with a few splits to the wood, a little loss to one of the stars, and some normal wear to the paint. The price is $275.00. • This is a hickory planter with great form, surface, and age. It is all original, in excellent sturdy condition. The planter is 37" wide, 30 1/2" high to the top of the handles, and 13 1/2" deep. It is finished in a dark varnish which has aged nicely; and is well decorated with split and bent pieces. There is a small area on both of the long surfaces which seem to have been made as frames. Although they may have been done simply for decorative aspects, they certainly can be used to hold a small picture. The planter was probably made in the 1930's or 40's - although it could be earlier. • This is square plant stand with a bottom shelf. It has a sculptural look. Made out of wood strips, with some running on the diagonal. It is in very good condition, and has an old dark red paint over an older green. It is 10 1/4" square and 24" high. From around the 1930's. The price is $160.00. Inventory Code: ASHH. • This is an old, large cast iron wheel which was used to turn a valve. A very decorative piece, it has an inner serpentine construction. This valve wheel was likely made in the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is 23" in diameter with a depth of 2 1/2" in the center at the hub. The rim is about 1 1/4" thick. This piece has a threaded hole in the center for a large bolt to go which would lock the wheel to a shaft. The outer rim has 9 holes drilled part way into it, which would provide finger grips. • This is an attractive Art Deco stand. It is decorated with grain painting, and incised lines with several shades of lacquer or varnish to simulate inlay. The finish has slight crazing. There is a small match holder at the top, above a shelf that is 7 1/2" wide by 4 1/4" deep. The overall height is 27 1/4", by 8 1/2" wide by 7 1/4" deep. It was built from pine, in the early 1900's. • This is a well constructed memory bottle decorated with multicolor beads, shells, and includes two portions of football trading cards and two collecting cards from the TV shows Knight Rider and Dallas. They are dated 1981 and 1982, which appears to be about when it was made. The bottle is in excellent condition with no loss. It is 13" high and 5 1/2" in diameter. The price is $125.00. • This is an incredible and very unusual bouquet of "flowers" made from natural burl shapes. These have fantastic forms and detail, and have been mounted with branch stems on a wooden base. They vary slightly in color, and have been finished with a light clear varnish. From NC, the bouquet measures 20 1/4" H by approx. 18" W and 13" D. It is in excellent condition, with very minor wear on the leaf shape, and is old. While the exact age is unknown, it appears to be about 60 to 70 years old. • Here is an exceptional piece of musical folk art, apparently made for Carnival/Mardi Gras. It has five carved figures - a guitar player on top surrounded by four dancers. The figures have bright flannel and ribbon clothes, yarn hair for the women, and yarn and metal foil decorations on the men's hat's. Some kind of seeds were set in as eyes. The mounting is decorated with faded crepe paper strips - originally red and white.

  The figures are mounted on a bamboo pole that slides up and down on a shaft. As it moves, the four dancers flex, hand carved castanets attached to their backs clatter, and tambourine discs jangle. The pole and handle are both hand carved. One of the four sets of castanets is missing, as well as one eye each on two of the figures. Otherwise the condition is excellent. This piece is French Canadian. It is 30 1/2" high when the handle is fully extended. The section with the figures measure 12 1/2" high by 13 1/2" by 14 1/2". It was probably made about the 1940's. • This is a folky hand made pipe rack, painted red and black. It measures 9" wide by 4 1/4" high by 2 1/4" deep. It is made from 1/4" plywood and 3/4" board. • This spectacular satin quilt came from an African-American family in Baltimore. It is machine and hand pieced, and minimally quilted, with a light blue cotton back and no batting. From the 1920's/30's, it is 72" square. The condition is excellent, with a very few pieces showing some splitting. The price is $3500.00. Inventory Code: PWCH.   Image ... Closeup ... • This painting is titled "The Prophet", by Caroline Goe. Oil on paper, it measures 8 1/2" by 12 1/2" as matted, the frame is 13 3/4" by 17". The artist is a street person in New York City who works mainly with scrounged materials. This piece was painted prior to 1986, and is in excellent condition. The price is $225.00. • This is a carved wooden "Black Power" fist. It has a hole through it with a rawhide necklace. The fist is 2 3/4" H, 2" wide, 1 1/4" deep. Condition is very good, probably from the 1970's. Inventory Code: PWAP.   Ordered. (What this means.)

• This is a very unusual, folk art box done in a layered, tramp art style. It is made from cigar box wood, and decorated with shaped, built-up layers and tacks. It has a dark lacquer finish and small handles on each side. The finish, which varies in shades, is darkest on the top and also has reddish tones which show more on all the sides. Inside are one large and four small compartments. The box is 18 1/2" side, 5 1/2" deep, and 4" high. The legs are actually applied on the the outside. The condition is fairly good; however it does have a few cracks and chips. There is also some loss to the back left corner of the top and the bottom outer portions of the legs on the left side. • This airplane whirligig has wonderful colors and form. It has a wood body, metal found objects for the blade, wings, and tail, and plastic wheels and pilot. The wood base was added more recently. The plane itself is 26" long, 15 1/2" wide, and 13 1/2" high; with the base it is 24 1/2" high. There may once have been something else attached over the tail. • This delightful W.W.II era collage was made from cut paper by Virginia Love, a girl in St. Louis, MO. It measures 8 1/2" by 11 3/4", in a frame 12 3/4" by 16", and is in excellent condition. The price is $225.00. Inventory Code: PWHC.   Image.

• This is a very finely detailed whimsey carving of a knife, with two balls in a cage in the handle. It is decorated with incised patterns, hearts, and the initials "J" and "W". It is finished with a light lacquer or varnish, and measures 8 1/2" long by approximately 3/4" by 3/4". The condition is excellent, with only one tiny, very old chip missing, which may have happened when the knife was originally carved. It was probably made in the early 1900's. The price is $135.00. • This is a French bottle whimsey with two orchard workers picking apples. There is a tree with apples on it, and a basket of apples on the ground. It is built in a cut glass bottle that is filled with water. It stands 9 1/2" high by 3 7/8" in diameter, and is in excellent condition. The price is $195.00.
