Can art starCan art starThis is simply a wonderful, old, decorative star made from tin cans by Leon Gibson, an African-American man who lived in south city St. Louis, MO. This was done in the 1940's. The workmanship involved in cutting, bending, and shaping the many pieces is amazing. This piece is approximately 16" across the arms - of which there are 11. It is in very good condition (with a little rust), and colorful, oxidized paint. It was very difficult to get photos which accurately conveyed how nice this is. We are sure, however, that whoever gets it will be very pleased. Take your time looking through the many images to get a better feel. The price is $395.00. Inventory Code: AWKS. Image ... Closeup ... Industrial brass faucetThis is a sculptural old and unusual long brass faucet with a heart shaped handle. It has a wonderful look to it and is now mounted on a new base and stand that display its classic features. We are not sure of the original use of this decorative industrial piece as we have not seen one quite like it before. It certainly is old, likely from the early 1900's, or possibly earlier. The top turns and can even be removed to see how the liquid would be allowed to flow. The piece is in excellent old condition. It has a great surface and color as well as very nice form. The faucet itself is 9 1/2" long by about 2" wide by 5 1/4" high. The full size, on the base and stand is 11 1/2" by 4" by 7 1/2" high. The price is $150.00. Metal drummer music boxThis folky metal drummer assemblage is actually a wind up music box. The drummer is constructed of springs, heavy wires, and light metal. The drums and stage are also all metal. The music box mechanism is mounted on a piece of wood under the base. It is pretty intricate. The size is about 7 1/2" high by 6 1/2" wide by 6" deep. It was likely made in the 1960's or 1970's and is in fairly good used condition. There are normal scratches and oxidation to the metal. The pièce de résistance comes when you wind the key and then listen to an extremely "sick" rendition of the opening bars of "The Age of Aquarius". The price is $110.00. Shop signThis is a wonderful shop sign, made from a metal clock face. The dial has stenciled numbers, with hand painted words "Will Be Back At" in black, and a dark green hand painted border. The paint has crazed nicely. The moveable hands are cut from metal strapping, and are also painted dark green. The sign is coated with varnish that has darkened with age. It measures 16" in diameter and is in very good condition, most likely from the 1940's. The price is $285.00. Inventory Code: TWKW.   Clock sign ... With hands moved ... Closeup ...
