Rustic twig plant standThis is a rustic plant stand made from chip-carved twigs. It is painted dark green, and has an upper plant holder and a lower shelf. The size is 34 1/2" high by 15" by 14". It is in very good condition, with minor paint loss, and one missing twig, about 3" long, on the base. This stand is no more recent than the 1930's or 40's. The price is $245.00. This is a detailed and wonderfully painted model swing made out of twig. The twigs are incised and painted, and it does swing. From the NC/TN mountains, it was probably made around the 1920's or 30's, and is in excellent condition. 17" high by 8 1/2" by 8 1/2". The price is $295.00. Inventory Code: APHP. Side view ... Carved frameThis is a frame/niche assemblage with carved trees and a photo under glass of the inside of a church and altar. It is Norwegian. This piece was probably made in the earlier part of the 1900's. It is in very good condition, with just a little wear. Some of the surface is unfinished and some varnished. The frame is oak, while the trees are a softwood. It is 10" high, 8" wide, and 4 1/4" deep. It looks like something would have to be taken apart if one wanted to remove the photo. NATURAL BURLThis is an incredible and very unusual bouquet of "flowers" made from natural burl shapes. These have fantastic forms and detail, and have been mounted with branch stems on a wooden base. They vary slightly in color, and have been finished with a light clear varnish. From NC, the bouquet measures 20 1/4" high by approximately 18" wide and 13" deep. It is in excellent condition, with very minor wear on the leaf shape, and is old. While the exact age is unknown, it appears to be about 60 to 70 years old. Folk art sledThis is a decorative old sled with the image of a comet and the word COMET on the top. It has super colors which have aged well. The paints are blue, red, and silver. The blue handles are set off with dark red rubbery grips. This piece was made from steel, with hardwood supports and a plywood top. It likely was done in the 1950's or '60's and is in very good condition with normal wear and a little rust from use. It is about 62" long by 13 1/2" wide and 6" deep. The handles are 24 1/2" across. twig basketThis is a very well-made twig basket. It has a diamond shape, crossed corners, and a bent twig handle. It is finished in a very dark varnish and is in excellent, sturdy condition with some minor scuffing. It was probably made around the 1940's. The dimensions are 16 1/2" high by 19" by 13". Whimsey carvingHere is a rustic whimsey carving of an arrow through a slab of wood. The arrow is 6" long by 3/4" high by 3/8" thick. The slab, which is a slice of branch with the bark still on, is an oval about 1 1/2" by 2", 3/8" thick. The carving has an oxidized surface, was probably made in the 1950's, and is in excellent condition. The price is $45.00. Inventory Code: AOKS. Image ... Side view ... Another angle ... Carved diamond willow standThis amphibian-covered stand is carved from diamond willow, with a soapstone base. The natural contours and ridges of the diamond willow have been carved into snakes, frogs, and salamanders, all very finely detailed with set in eyes and lines, spots, etc. The match holder (?) on top is incised with the words "F. Reichter, square bow, flat bottom, 1859 Minnesota River" and is supported by a brass hose nozzle. The silver paint looks fairly recent, but the snakes, etc. all have a very good, old, dark, patinated surface. The stand is 44" tall, the base is 9 1/2" in diameter, and the condition is excellent, with one old, probably original break near the base. The price is $750.00. Inventory Code: PHTS. Rustic frameThis is fairly large swivel frame with a rustic look plus carved and burned decoration. The frame is from about the 1930's and has a dark varnish finish. It is in very good condition. The base is 11 1/2" by 4", and the frame itself is 8 1/2" by 11", with an opening 6 1/2" by 9". The price is $145.00. Inventory Code: ACCA. Rustic desk frame ... Clothespin planterHere is a planter made from an old can surrounded by old-fashioned painted wood clothespins (not the spring type). The weathered paint is brown over green. Probably made around the 1940's, it is in very good condition. The size is 4 1/4" high by 7 1/4" in diameter. The price is $160.00. Inventory Code: PRWS. Clothespin planter.
