First are some paintings by the late Martin Zipin (1920 - 1991). He painted in a wide range of forms and created his own painting style, which he dubbed "the positive image." He also painted objects, often on a textured surface like burlap, and then cut out the images to achieve a three-dimensional effect. He did the framing on all of the following pieces.
